We are excited to announce the re-opening of the surfing museum at our new location inside the North Room of the New Smyrna Beach Museum of History (NSBMOH) located at 120 Sams Avenue in New Smyrna Beach. This reopening represents a collaboration and joint venture with NSBMOH that may become a permanent arrangement. We are continuing to add artifacts and exhibits and would like you to stop by and take a look at our new home. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 4pm. The museum is fully staffed, with refreshments, a gift store and a small auditorium area where speakers can appear and present video presentations. During your visit please take the time to also tour the NSB Museum of History. You will be amazed at some of the artifacts and exhibits they have on display. Mike Martin was a driving force for the formation and establishment of the New Smyrna Beach Museum of East Coast Surfing. He served as our founding member, Secretary, historian and archivist. It was Mike’s hope and desire that New Smyrna Beach become the location of a world class surfing museum celebrating the history of East Coast Surfing. And while we will deeply miss Mike’s presence and invaluable knowledge of the sport and its history, we know he would want the Museum to carry on and become a worldwide destination for all who follow the sport of surfing.

On Sunday, November 20, 2016 there will be a paddleout at Mary Clancy Park, followed by a celebration of his life at the Boat and Ski club.

Please help us honor Mike’s legacy and his desire to establish a world class surfing museum, and make a donation to our building fund.
